Parent Group
Thank you to parents who completed our recent survey about what support you would find most helpful. Many parents asked us for the chance i) to learn about strategies for standing up to OCD at home, and ii) to connect with other families affected by OCD. In response to this feedback, we are excited to let you know about a new parent group running within The Specialist OCD Clinic.

We understand how powerfully OCD can affect everyday life, and just how challenging it can be to know how to respond. We are keen to create a space where we can provide information, answer your questions and give you the opportunity to hear from others in a similar position.
Further Information
What will the group look like?
The group will include around 8 families (one or both parents are welcome to attend). The first 60 minutes will involve a teaching session from our clinicians, exploring how best you can effectively support your child. The second part will be an opportunity for questions, and group discussion around OCD and your personal experiences.

What ages is the group for?
The current group will support parents of children and adolescents (under 18). However, we hope to run future groups for parents and loved ones of adults with OCD. Please consider joining our team’s mailing list (if you haven’t already), if you would be keen for updates about future opportunities.

How much will the group cost?
The cost is £650 for the 6-week group.

What if I can't make every week?
If you miss a week, there will be a recording of the session that you will be able to access. However, we are keen to ensure that parents come to the majority of sessions to help the group feel like a consistent and supportive space.
